FSSAI stands for Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. Any person or business involved in the manufacturing, processing, storage, distribution or sale of food products must obtain an FSSAI licence or registration.
There are three types: Basic FSSAI Registration for small businesses with annual turnover up to Rs 12 lakh, State FSSAI Licence for mid-sized operators with turnover up to Rs 20 crore, and Central FSSAI Licence for large manufacturers, importers and exporters.
